That's the reason you're here anyway, right?
SOCIAL MEDIA: From Hobby to LIFE
Now days, we all have social network pages. They are very convenient, so why not? Right? We get to share life changing events, testimonies, funny stories and so much more. Social media helps us to stay connected and up-to-date with our families and friends. We also get to promote our businesses. Social media has made it so we never miss a thing, but when is it too much?
Yesterday, I checked my power (battery) usage. It showed that since the last time my battery was 100% charged I had spent 3 ½ hours on Facebook alone. I was sort of embarrassed. That was three hours in which I could have been productive. Has social media replaced your family time? Has it drawn a wedge between you and your loved ones? Possibly; however, you may never know.
So often, we bring hundreds and thousands of friends with us to bed (I’m guilty) and quality time with our spouse actually has no quality at all. So say for example, “I’m in our bed and he is in the living room but I want him close by. I call him to me but I’m remain on my phone.” Exactly, what kind of quality time is that? We are ruining real life relationships because we are entertaining people we barely know. Technology has us spoiled rotten but we must learn to disconnect. My husband and I are both guilty but man did this open my eyes. No one wants to feel like they have to compete with social media for a little quality time. Some things need our UNDIVIDED, UNINTERUPTED attention. We should NEVER have more time invested into social media, than with our homes, spouses, and children.
